MoDOT Offers Highway Work Zone Map

To avoid as many orange barrels as possible this year, check out MoDOT ’s statewide construction map before you travel. The guide lists major construction projects that will affect traffic across the state, as well as breaks out major projects in the St. Louis, Springfield and Kansas City areas. The map gives brief project details, notes whether work is occurring during the day or night or both and shows the expected completion date. New Map

Officials Discuss Statewide Transportation Priorities

MoDOT officials met in late March with citizens from all regions of the state to begin determining priorities to be added to the state’s next transportation improvement program. High-priority road and bridge needs throughout Missouri were discussed. Two more meetings will be held - one in late April, and one in mid-May. Priorities  

Public-Private Partnership Bills Moving in Legislature

This proposed legislation would allow the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to contract with a private developer to finance, develop and operate a Mississippi River bridge in St. Louis to connect Missouri and Illinois. Both the House and Senate bills have received approval from their respective chambers, and now need approval from the other. For further information see HB 1380 or SB 938.

New Missouri Airport Directory and Travel Guide Available

The 2006-2007 Missouri Airport Directory and Travel Guide, produced by MoDOT, is now available to the public. This flight-planning tool provides facility information to pilots and users of Missouri’s public-use airports. Airport Directory  

Plan Ahead. Drive Smart.

Planning ahead and driving smartly is what new work zone pages on MoDOT's Web site are encouraging visitors to do. The site offers valuable safety tips, links to several construction maps, as well as a page that offers alternate routes for Interstate 44. You can also get the latest work zone statistics, listen to radio spots or download other work zone information. Drive Smart
