One administrator, faculty, staff member or parent should serve as the main contact for correspondence and information regarding the competition. This person will also oversee the safety belt checks and educational campaign.
A club or student group should pick as many educational activities as they feel necessary to achieve successful safety belt use among their peers. Students may use programs from the resource list provided in the Educational Campaign Resources page or use their own ideas.
The group will conduct one surprise safety belt survey on week 1. During weeks 2-5 educational information will be distributed or presented to the student population. During week 6 another surprise safety belt survey will be conducted. Competition results will be tallied using the difference between the two surveys. All percentages will be derived by MoDOT's Central Office using the following formula: 2nd survey use rate - 1st survey use rate / 1st survey use rate.
