General MoDOT will provide electronic design data via the Online Plans Room (INDOX Services) along with the bidding documents to aid the bidder in the use of automation of bid estimates, and/or GPS grading and staking. The data provided is for information purposes only and is not to be considered part of the legal contract documents. Will electronic design data be provided for all projects? In November 2005, MoDOT began requiring this delivery only for projects with total earthwork volume exceeding 250,000 cubic yards and designed with the GEOPAK software will qualify for delivery of electronic design data.  In March 2008, MoDOT made a change requiring data be delivered for all projects containing both earthwork and cross section sheets. Exactly what design data is being provided and in what format? Guidelines for Consultants The design data will be provided in the native format of MicroStation and/or GEOPAK files as used by the department, which include: MicroStation drawings (.dgn files) showing proposed master (strip map) plan view geometry. MicroStation drawings (.dgn files) showing master GEOPAK intelligent cross sections for main alignments. Geopak XS-List report (.xsr files) representing the original ground for each alignment with GEOPAK intelligent cross sections.  All cross section reports are ASCII format regardless of file extension.  How To Create XS Reports Geopak XS-List report (.xsr files) or Multi-line reports (.gen files) representing the proposed finished grade.  All cross section reports are ASCII format regardless of file extension.  How To Create XS Reports GEOPAK coordinate geometry database provided in its native GEOPAK format (.gpk file) as well as Land XML format.  This file contains final horizontal and vertical alignments, special ditch profiles, and control points. An ASCII text file including superelevation transition stations. Existing ground model in both native GEOPAK TIN format and Land XML format.
