Even after excavating more than seven million cubic yards of earth, there is still more to do at the new Route 5 site. The contractor is loading and hauling rock here at a section north of the new Lake Road 5-89.

On June 19, crews poured the deck of the new Lake Road 5-92 bridge. The new bridge crosses over the new Route 5.
Concrete is pumped from below to the bridge deck, where workers smooth it out to form the bridge's driving surface.

The green "grid" below the wet concrete is a steel support structure called a top mat.
