The project will improve safety and traffic flow through the lake area. The new expressway will begin near Business Route 54 in Miller County and end west of Route KK in Camden County. Work to build the new four-lane divided highway includes grading, drainage, bridges, retaining walls, paving and utilities.

Six interchanges will provide access between existing Route 54 and the new expressway. The interchanges will be at Business Route 54, Route 42, Passover Road, Jefferies Road, Broadwater Lane and Nichols/Route KK.

Route 242

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway

New Four Lane Highway

   

The Missouri Department of Transportation will construct a new four-lane highway connecting U.S. Route 54 in Miller County to the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge on Route MM in Camden County. The new facility will also connect to the existing Horseshoe Bend Parkway. The roadway project is approximately two miles long and will include a raised center median and curb and gutter drainage. An 8 ft. sidewalk will be constructed on the north side of the roadway. When completed, the new highway will be known as Route 242.

US Route 54

Route 54 Intersection Improvements

The Missouri Department of Transportation will make safety improvements at the intersections at Route V and Lake Road 54-68. Work will take place during the daytime hours. and is scheduled for completion in late 2010.

Shared Four-Lane
 

MoDOT will build a shared four-lane highway in Camden and Laclede counties to improve safety and traffic flow. This innovative highway design provides 18 miles of continuous, alternating passing lanes between Camdenton and Lebanon, allowing motorists to pass other vehicles without driving in opposing traffic lanes.

Route 5
Route 5 Widening Through Sunrise Beach

The Missouri Department of Transportation is widening Route 5 through Sunrise Beach. Work is taking place during the daytime and nightime hours. The work is scheduled to be complete in summer 2010.

The project will extend from Route F to the north for approximately one mile.  The work includes widening Route 5 to allow for two 12-foot driving lanes and one 12-foot center turn lane.  The current highway consists of two 11-foot lanes.

Contractor: H.B. Construction, Inc. DBA Hill Brothers of Platte City, Mo.

Route 7 Resurfacing
   

The Missouri Department of Transportation will resurface Route 7 in Camden County, from Route T to Route A. Work will take place during daytime hours. The resurfacing is scheduled to be complete in fall 2010.

 
   

 
 
Route 5

Route 5 Realignment Project

This is the largest grading project in MoDOT history, requiring the excavation of more than seven million cubic yards of soil and rock. The grading work is part of the realignment of nearly seven miles of Route 5, from south of the Niangua Bridge to near Route 7. The realignment will also include extensive drainage work and the construction of two interchanges and four bridges.
