MoDOT Seeks Public Input on Route 45 Alignment Alternatives
PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 7, regarding conceptual Route 45 alignment alternatives. The meeting will be held at the Platte County Community Center South located at 8875 Clark Ave. in Parkville.
MoDOT asks those who use Route 45 from Interstate 435 east to Route 9 to provide comments to the project team at the open-house style meeting. No formal presentations will be made.
“At a May public meeting we gathered community input about the existing conditions along Route 45,” said MoDOT Transportation Planning Coordinator Allan Zafft. “We’re now asking people to come back and view several alternatives developed for improving Route 45 based on this community input and further technical analysis. The alternatives will show different ways to add capacity and make Route 45 safer, more efficient and better suited to meet community needs.”
The study to improve the Route 45 corridor from Interstate 435 east to Route 9 was made possible by voter approval of Amendment 3. Approximately $25 million is budgeted for the design and construction of Route 45 improvements between Routes 9 and K. The project was identified as a statewide priority and added to MoDOT’s 2006-2010 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) in July 2005.
