Statement from MoDOT Director Pete Rahn Regarding State of the State Address

JEFFERSON CITY - "United States Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters stated in 2007 ‘The Show-Me State is showing America how to deliver highway projects on budget and on schedule, and even ahead of schedule.'  She also credited Gov. Matt Blunt with helping to make ‘Missouri a national leader when it comes to embracing innovative approaches and solutions.'"

"Whether he was challenging MoDOT to complete 2,200 miles of smooth roads a year ahead of schedule or calling a special session to ensure our 800 bridge improvement initiative moves forward, Gov. Blunt has played an important role in the dramatic betterment of Missouri's transportation system and the turnaround in public perceptions about MoDOT."

"With his address last night, Gov. Blunt again demonstrated his leadership on transportation.  I sincerely appreciate the governor's support for transportation in our state, which is vital for saving lives, creating jobs and making life better for all Missourians."
