Use Caution on Wet Roads Today
Anticipated Increase in Travel on I-70



JEFFERSON CITY - Your car can be a great place to stay dry, but use extra caution when driving on Missouri's wet roads today. With increased traffic expected along Interstate 70 as fans travel to the Mizzou football game in Columbia, MoDOT reminds you about tools you can use to check road conditions before driving.

Traveler Information Map - Check MoDOT's traveler information map at http://www.modot.org/ for the latest road conditions. The map will be updated continuously, showing whether major roads are clear, flooded or closed.

  • Drive at a speed appropriate for the weather conditions.
  • Allow for extra travel time.
  • Brake earlier and with less force.
  • Focus on the road.
  • Always use your safety belt.
  • Avoid using cruise control.
  • Keep tires properly inflated
