In Missouri, someone
is killed or injured in an
alcohol-related traffic
crash every 1.9 hours.
Impaired
driving is one of America's deadliest crimes. Despite all the
attention, resources, and public policies that have been directed
toward removing the impaired driver from behind the wheel of a
motor vehicle, alcohol contributed to one-fourth of the
fatal traffic crashes in Missouri in 2009. A total of 280 people were killed and 1,140 seriously injured in crashes involving an impaired driver.
