Route 72 - Apex Paving will start work widening and relocating a curve just west of the Sale Barn in Patton on Monday, May 19. To start the work, the contractor will haul dirt from a borrow area across from Meadow Heights School. Drivers can expect trucks entering and leaving the area daily as work continues on the relocation. Traffic in this area will also be reduced to one lane, so motorists should expect some delays.
Location: Project is from just east of Route 51 to Route 34.

Butler County
Construction Projects
Route 53--Route 53 will be reduced to one lane from Route 51 in Butler County to Route 62 in Dunklin County. Lake Asphalt Paving & Construction is resurfacing and adding shoulders from Qulin to Campbell. A vehicle marked "Pilot Car" will lead traffic thru the one lane work zone. If you approach Route 53 from a side road, please wait until the "Pilot Car" passes in your direction before entering the roadway.
Route 60 - Eastbound and Westbound Route 60 will be reduced to one lane, weather permitting. The lane closure will be from Route DD at Fisk to Route 51 while a contractor hired by MoDOT performs shoulder work as part of the new interchange construction. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday, July 8 and Wednesday, July 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Roadway Maintenance
Route HH in Butler County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews seal the roadway.
This section of roadway is located from Route 53 to Route 142.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Friday, July 18 from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Cape Girardeau County
Construction Projects
Route 72 - Traffic reduced to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as Apex Paving begins resurfacing and shoulder paving.
Location: From just east of Route 51 to Route 34.

Route 34/72 - Gaines Construction closing County Road 328 at the Route 34 intersection in Jackson as the contractor begins grading, drainage and widening work. County Road 328 will remain closed at the intersection for the next few months while the contractor is placing the new pavement. Route 34 will be reduced to one lane from County Road 335 to the Route 34/72 intersection for concrete paving. Work should be complete by the end of the year.
Southbound I-55 traffic will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a contractor hired by MoDOT starts shoulder work to install guardcable Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting.
The guardcable installation will be a moving operation from Exit 111 at Oak Ridge to Route 60 at Sikeston and should wrap up in mid-August.
Eastbound lanes of the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge at Cape Girardeau will be reduced to one lane from Thursday, July 17, to Wednesday, July 23, weather permitting. The lane closure is necessary as
while emergency repairs are made to conduit damaged as a result of a towboat striking the bridge yesterday. The conduit powered the bridge’s aesthetic lighting. The work is expected to take place between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily

This section of roadway is located from County Road 220 to the Scott County line.

Route EE in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform drainage work.
This section of roadway is located from County Road 249 to the Scott County line.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. US 61 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a
12-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform drainage work in the northbound and southbound lanes.
This section of roadway is located from Interstate 55 to Route D.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Dunklin County
Construction Projects
Route 53 - Route 53 will be reduced to one lane from Route 51 in Butler County to Route 62 in Dunklin County. Route 164 will be reduced to one lane during bridge improvements now until Tuesday, July 22, weather permitting. The lane closure will be two and a half miles east of the Route 164/Route Y intersection. Traffic will be handled with temporary traffic signals while bridge repairs are made. The repairs are part of a project to replace the Elk Chute Bridge and repair the bridges on both sides of Elk Chute.

This section of roadway is located from the Holcomb city limits to County Road 402.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 14 thru Friday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
Route 25 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the northbound lane.
This section of roadway is located from Route EE to Route 153 at White Oak.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 14 thru Friday, July 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Route 164 in Dunklin County will continue to be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform drainage work in the eastbound and westbound lanes.
This section of roadway is from Route 412 to County Road 613.
Weather permitting, the work will take place thru Wednesday, July 23 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
Route E in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane while crews perform pavement repairs.
This section of roadway is located from Route 67 to County Road 537 near Greenville.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 21from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Madison County
Construction Projects
Route 67--A contractor hired by MoDOT is working on Route 67 to construct additional lanes for the upgrade to four lanes in Madison, Wayne and Butler Counties. Currently most of the activity is grading work from Route E to the Wayne County line. Drivers should be cautious of trucks entering and leaving the roadway; however, there are no other impacts to traffic right now. The work is expected to be completed in late 2010.
Route 72 from the Highway 67 East Outer Road to Kingsbury Boulevard will be reduced to one lane as Bross Construction starts shoulder work Monday, June 16, weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one lane between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily with both east and westbound lanes affected at various times with lane closures. The project is the first phase of relocating Route 72 north of its current intersection with Route OO and constructing a roundabout at Fredericktown. Completion is expected in fall 2008.
Route 67 – Bross Construction resurfacing and installing guardrail. Traffic reduced to one lane in various locations daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: Cherokee Pass in Madison County to the Butler County line.

Mississippi County
Construction Projects
Interstate 57--Southbound traffic on I-57 in Mississippi County is Expected to be switched back to the southbound lanes on Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting. Once the traffic is moved, southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane as the contractor still has some minor work to finish like the replacement of a small portion of pavement at the end of the Mississippi River Bridge.

This section of roadway is located six miles north of Route 62 to the bridge over Big Lake Bayou near the Illinois state line.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane with an 18 foot width restriction from Monday, July 7 at 7:30 a.m. thru Monday, July 28 at 4:00 p.m.
Interstate 57 in Scott and Mississippi Counties will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the northbound lane.
This section of roadway is located from Interstate 55 to Route B at Bertrand.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane and will reopen Thursday, July 31 at approximately 3:00 p.m.
Route O in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews overlay the eastbound lane.
This section of roadway will begin at Route N and extend two miles east of Route N north of Charleston.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Friday, July 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Route D - Robertson Contractors will be closing the road starting Monday, Apr. 21 as work gets underway to replace the bridge over Ditch 251 and replacing the deck over Ditch 4.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Wednesday, July 16 thru Friday, July 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Route 61 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform pavement repairs in the northbound and southbound lanes.
This section of roadway is located from Route P to Route EE.

Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane with an 18-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the northbound lane. The northbound Steele Rest Area will be closed during these repairs.
This section of roadway will begin approximately one mile north of Route O and extend for three miles.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 14 at 7:00 a.m. and will reopen Friday, July 18 at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Route EE in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform routine bridge repairs.
This section of roadway is located from County Road 229 to Route A near Peach Orchard.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

Scott County
Construction Projects
Southbound I-55 traffic will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a contractor hired by MoDOT starts shoulder work to install guardcable Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting. The guardcable installation will be a moving operation from Exit 111 at Oak Ridge to Route 60 at Sikeston and should wrap up in mid-August. A portion of northbound I-55 will also be reduced to one lane from Benton to the Route H overpass north of Sikeston from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 25, weather permitting, as the moving operation progresses.
Route W is closed while the bridge over Ditch 35 between Oran and Perkins that was damaged during spring floods is replaced. The bridge replacement is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Route H will be reduced to one lane from County Road 450 to County Road 528 south of Blodgett.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Thursday, July 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Route N in Scott County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews overlay the roadway.
The work will be performed from Route NN to one half mile east of Route NN north of Charleston.
Weather permitting, the work will take place Friday, July 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

St. Francois County
Construction Projects
Route 67--Work is underway to construct the Old Orchard/Route 67 interchange at Bonne Terre. Right now grading work is underway from Route 47 to Stormy Lane. The work is scheduled for completion in fall 2009. Drivers should be cautious of trucks entering and leaving the roadway; however, there are no other impacts to traffic currently.
Route 221 will be reduced to one lane on the bridge over the St. Francois River, approximately 1 mile south of Farmington on Route 221 Monday, July 7. A three-week lane closure is necessary to allow for repairs to the bridge. Temporary traffic signals, barrels and work zone signing will be in place around the clock to direct traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes throughout the duration of the lane closure.

Route 47 in St. Francois County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform shoulder repairs in the northbound lane.
This section of roadway is located from Spruce Street to County Road Rue Terre Bonne.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 21 thru Wednesday, July 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
Route 8 in St. Francois County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform drainage work in the westbound lane. This section of roadway is located from Highley Lane to Hawthorne Street. Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Tuesday, July 22 from 7:00 a.m. to noon.

Ste. Genevieve County

Work to build a portion of the new southbound Route 67 lanes in Wayne County will result in closing County Road 403 starting next Monday, July 21, weather permitting. The closure will be located at its intersection with Route 67. County Road 403 may still be accessed via Route 49 and County Road 406. As the contractor continues building the new southbound lanes, the area will see heavy construction traffic and drivers are urged to use extreme caution near the work zones.
