SIKESTON-Work to replace the Route EE bridge over Drainage Ditch No. 1 in Scott County is expected to begin Monday, Aug. 29, weather permitting.  The roadway will remain closed from Route 25 to Route 77 as construction is underway.

The project will be completed as part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program-concluding the program's bridge replacements on Route EE. Work is currently underway to replace the Route EE bridge over Drainage Ditch No. 14 in Cape Girardeau County. The bridge over Little River Drainage Ditch No. 11 in Scott County was completed July 25.

Construction is expected to be completed by early November.

Signs and warning devices will be in place as improvements are underway.  Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
