SIKESTON - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate completion of the outer road along Interstate 55 in Scott City at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. The ceremony will be held on the north side of the project, near William Nobbe & Co. Inc., located at 1400 East Outer Road in Scott City, Mo.  

The project included grading, paving, signal installation at the I-55 and Route AB interchange, and construction of an outer road from Route K to Route AB near Scott City. Additionally, a new bridge was constructed over Ramsey Creek for the outer road. 

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a contract for the project in June 2010.  The $4,333,380 contract was awarded to R.L. Persons Construction Inc., Poplar Bluff, Mo. 

The public is invited to attend the ceremony.
