Project:

• Add lanes on Campbell Avenue to improve traffic flow:
  • Campbell Avenue (Route 160/13) will be widened to three lanes in each direction between Republic Road and a point north of Plainview Road (Greene County Farm Road 182).
  • The transition to the six-lane section will begin at about South Avenue which intersects Campbell Avenue about 800 feet north of Republic Road.
    
• Add additional left-turn lanes at Campbell Ave. and James River Freeway:
  • Triple left-turn lanes from westbound James River Freeway-to-southbound Campbell Avenue
  • Dual left-turn lanes from eastbound James River Freeway-to-northbound Campbell Avenue; northbound Campbell Avenue-to-westbound James River Freeway; and southbound Campbell Avenue-to-eastbound James River Freeway

 

• Build sidewalks along the west side of Campbell Avenue between a point north of Republic Road and Cardinal Street

Project Maps:

• South Avenue to El Camino Alto Drive
• El Camino Alto Drive to Weaver Road
• Weaver Road to Plainview Road

Schedule:

• Project completion August 2012

Cost:

• $6 million, shared by MoDOT, City of Springfield, Greene County.

Traffic Impacts During Construction:

• Expect SLOWDOWNS and DELAYS, especially during busiest travel times

• Lane closings at NIGHT

• Entrances to businesses and side streets kept open, though narrowed at times
