Bates County - APAC-Missouri, Inc., will replace the northbound Route 71 bridge over Miami Creek, three miles north of Rich Hill, starting Thursday, July 22 as part of the Safe & Sound bridge program.

Crews built a crossover, and beginning July 22 traffic will travel on the southbound lanes until the bridge is complete by early December. One lane of traffic will be northbound and one will be southbound.

Missouri has 10,249 bridges on the state highway system, the 7th largest total nationwide. The Safe & Sound Bridge Program will improve 802 of the state's most worn-out bridges.
