Road Closures in the Southwest District

	Barton County Routes DD/EE closed at Route 71 for interchange upgrade. Detour is Route W to Route 160 to Route A. Speed limit is reduced to 60 mph on Route 71 during lane closures.
	Bates County Route 52 East, south of Butler, closed at Route 71. Detour is Route 71 to Route H to Route BB. County Road 448 at Route 71 closed until the new interchange is complete in the fall of 2010.
	Cedar County Route 32 - Crews with Krupp Construction is replacing the Route 32 bridge. The bridge will reopen early August.

	Jasper County Route D bridge at Quaker Mill is closed for replacement, and will reopen Saturday, July 24. Route BB bridge at Deer Creek closed July 12 for replacement until Sept. 10.
	Route 66 (7th Street) from Duquesne Road to Route 249-Road closed for widening until fall 2010.
	Vernon County
	Route H - Crews with Krupp Construction are replacing the bridge near Route 54. The bridge will reopen the first part of September. Route N - Crews are replacing the bridge over Pleasant Creek. The bridge will reopen the first part of September.

 

Barry County

Maintenance Activities

Route 248 - July 26 - Chip sealing pavement from the Stone County line to Cassville. Motorists should expect delays.

Route HH - July 26 - Patching pavement.

Route U - July 27 - Patching pavement.

Route O - July 28 - Patching pavement.

Various routes - July 26-30 - Maintaining signs and spraying weeds.

 

Barton County

Construction Activities

Route DD/EE and 71 interchange - Brauer Excavating was awarded the $7.3 million contract to build interchanges at Routes DD/EE and V/C. Route V/C opened July 16, and estimated completion date for Route DD/EE is late July.

Route 71 crossovers permanently closed at the following locations to convert Route 71 to interstate standards:

• County Roads 70th and 80th closed July 17
• County Road 50th closed July 17
• County Road 90th closed July 15
• County Roads 20th and 10th closed July 16

Route 160 - July 26-30 - Repairing edges.

Various routes - July 26-30 - Spraying weeds.

 

Bates County

Construction Activities

Route 52 East bridge replacement - Hilty Quarries was awarded the contract to replace the Route 52 East bridge at Route 71. The detour is Route H to Route BB to Route 52. Estimated completion date is fall 2010.

 

Maintenance Activities

Route AA - July 26-30 - Patching pavement.

Route H - July 28 - Chip-sealing pavement. Motorists should expect delays.

Various routes - July 26-30 - Chip-sealing pavement.

 

Cedar County

Construction Activities

Route 32 - Crews with Krupp Construction will close the Cedar County Route 32 bridge over Horse Creek for replacement beginning June 14 as part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Program. The bridge will reopen early August.

 

Maintenance Activities

Various routes - July 26-30 - Patching and chip-sealing pavement, and spraying weeds.  

 

Dade County

Maintenance Activities

Route 215 - July 26-30 - Repairing a drainage pipe.

Various routes - July 26-30 - Spraying weeds.

 

Jasper County

Construction Activities

Route D bridge replacement - Quaker Mill bridge reopens July 24. Route BB bridge at Deer Creek closed July 12 for replacement until Sept. 10.

Route 66 (7th Street) between Route 249 and Duquesne Road - Widening the road to five lanes and replacing the Turkey Creek bridge. Beginning July 21, traffic will be routed onto the new asphalt west of the bridge, south of the old pavement. Reopening fall 2010. Resident and business access only.

Route 37 - July 27-28 - Sealing pavement.

Route 66 (7th Street) - July 29 - Patching pavement.

Newton County

Maintenance Activities

Route 86 - July 19-30 - Railroad crossing repairs from Hamilton Street to Route HH. Route 86 closed at the crossing while Kansas City Southern Railroad makes repairs.

Route C - July 26 - Patching pavement.

Route V - July 27-28 - Patching pavement.

Various routes - July 26-30 - Maintaining signs.

 

St. Clair County

Construction Activities

Route 13 bridge repairs - APAC-Missouri, Inc., was awarded the $3.3 million contract to repair the Truman Reservoir bridge south of Route B near Osceola. Estimated completion date is fall 2010.

Route B bridge repairs - Burk Bridge was awarded the $793,000 contract to repair the Monegaw and Little Monegaw creeks. Estimated completion date is late September 2010.

 

Maintenance Activities

Route A - July 26-29 - Chip-sealing pavement from Route 52 to Route 13. Motorists should expect delays.

 

Vernon County

Construction Activities

Route H - Crews with Krupp Construction closed the Route H bridge near Route 54 for replacement on June 7. The bridge will reopen the first part of September.

Route N - Crews will close the Route N bridge over Pleasant Creek for replacement July 27. The bridge will reopen the first part of September.
