THE PROJECT:
• Widen Route 14 to two through lanes in each direction between 22nd
and 16th Streets; includes widening bridge over Route 65
• Widen Route 65 off-ramps to dual left-turn lanes onto Route 14
• Add second left-turn lane on eastbound Route 14 to northbound
Route 65 on-ramp
• Relocate 18th Street (Route 65 outer road) 150 feet to east, add traffic signals at 18th Street, remove traffic signals at 17th Street
• Build new sidewalks, storm drains, concrete medians and islands
TRAFFIC DURING CONSTRUCTION:
• LANE CLOSINGS ONLY AT NIGHT on Route 14 and Route 65
• Anticipate slowdowns, depending on type of work being done
• Plan extra travel time for nighttime school events or other activities
• Side streets will be closed at times
• Access to businesses WILL BE maintained
Project Start: Week of August 18, 2008
Project Complete: November 1, 2009
Construction Cost: $7 million
