Route 65 Widening and Relocation: Dallas County Route EE near Foose to Truman Road in Buffalo (Dallas County)
- Grading along the new highway lanes
Traffic Impacts:

- Route 65 traffic shifted to temporary bypass south of Truman Road in Buffalo
- Bypass speed limit: 40 mph
Project Information:
- Widen Route 65 to four lanes and relocating it to the west of the existing road between Dallas County Route EE and Truman Road in Buffalo.
- Build new intersections at Neill Road, Kelly Road, Golf Course Road and Barnes Lane.
- Project completion: July 2010.

Route 60/65 Interchange Reconstruction: Springfield (Greene County)
- Installing bridge girders for the eastbound Route 60-to-northbound Route 65 “flyover” ramp
- Building forms for bridge deck on northbound U.S. 65-to-westbound U.S. 60 "flyover" ramp
- Blasting rock/moving rock and dirt along westbound U.S. 60 west of U.S. 65
- Grading dirt in the Route 65 median south of Route 60
- Grading rock and dirt to build bridges on either side of U.S. 60 near the railroad tracks
- Building a bridge column in the Route 60 median just east of Route 65
- Building retaining walls in various locations
- Other bridge work in various locations
- Moving equipment at night
Traffic Impacts:
- Eastbound Route 60 CLOSED during nighttime hours Monday-Wednesday. Work hours: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Detour to Evans Road. Also, southbound Route 65-to-eastbound Route 60 ramp CLOSED.
- Route 60 traffic slowed and possibly stopped at 5 a.m. Monday-Friday. Traffic slowed between
- Glenstone Avenue west of Route 65 and Greene County Farm Road 189 east of Route 65. Traffic could be stopped for up to 10 minutes.
- Other nighttime ramp and lane closings possible during week
- Traffic shifted and driving lanes narrowed on Route 65 and Route 60
- Work zone speed limit: 60 mph
Trail Impacts:
- James River Greenway Trail is closed south of Route 60 to Brunswick Avenue on the east side of Route65. The trail will be closed indefinitely to allow crews to build the new flyover ramps and complete other bridge work on Route 60 east of Route 65.
- Galloway Creek Greenway trail is CLOSED at Route 60 near the railroad tracks. Trail access at that point will be closed indefinitely.
Project Background:
- Build directional, "flyover" ramps to eliminate a tight conflict point on the existing northbound Route 65 bridge over Route 60
- Build new bridges over the railroad tracks on Route 60
- Replace the northbound Route 65 bridge over Route 60 and the westbound Route 60 bridge over Lake Springfield
- Widen the eastbound Route 60 bridge over Lake Springfield
- Rehabilitate the southbound Route 65 bridge over Route 60
- Install new highway lighting.
Project completion: October 2012.
Route 65 Six-Laning Project: Springfield (Greene County)
- Building bridge columns in the Route 65 median to widen the railroad bridges south of Chestnut Expressway
- Installing drain pipes in median between Sunshine and Cherry streets
- Blasting in the median south of Cherry Street
- Building retaining wall in median north of Route 60
Traffic Impacts:
- Traffic shifted to the right both northbound and southbound at railroad bridges between Sunshine Street and Chestnut Expressway
- Nighttime lane closings on Route 65 where crews are working. Work hours: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday
- Route 65 traffic slowed and possibly stopped for up to 10 minutes for blasting. Work hours: 10 to 11 p.m. and 1 to 3 a.m.
- Speed limit in work zones: 50 mph when crews present and when hazards exist in median
Project Background:
- Widen Route 65 to six lanes, with lanes added in median
- Rebuild and widen railroad bridges between Sunshine Street and Chestnut Expressway
- Rehabilitate and widen railroad bridges between Division and Kearney streets
- Widen bridges at Chestnut Expressway and Catalpa Street
- Project completion: October 2011.

National Avenue/James River Freeway Interchange Reconstruction: Springfield (Greene County)
- Building concrete forms on the bridge deck for the widening of the National Avenue bridge over Route 60
- Building underpass underneath National Avenue just north of James River Freeway
- Grading along eastbound Route 60 off-ramp
- Installing road signs along westbound Route 60
- Building a retaining wall along Bradford Parkway on the east side of National Avenue
Traffic Impacts:
- Short-term traffic stops on the ramps to allow equipment to enter and leave work areas
- National Avenue traffic is shifted to the east just north of Bradford Parkway south of Primrose Street
- National Avenue speed limit through work zone: 30 mph
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes.
- Traffic delays taking place during morning and evening rush hours because National Avenue is narrowed
- All pedestrian traffic through the work zone must use the sidewalk on the east side of National Avenue between Primrose Street and Republic Road
Project Background:
- Convert interchange into a “Diverging Diamond” where traffic criss-crosses at the ends of the bridge. Drivers traveling on National Avenue can make “free” left turns onto James River Freeway
- Widen National Avenue bridge to three lanes in each direction
- Build connecting ramps along Route 60 between Campbell Avenue and National Avenue ramps
- Build new underpass underneath National Avenue north of James River Freeway
- Partnership project between MoDOT, the city of Springfield and CoxHealth Systems
- Project completion: August 2010
I-44/Glenstone Avenue Interchange Reconstruction and Route H Widening: Springfield (Greene County)
- Applying pavement stripes on Glenstone Avenue at I-44
- Spreading grass seed and mulch in various locations
- Laying asphalt for shoulders along the eastbound off ramp and in other locations
- Doing general clean-up work around the project
Traffic Impacts:
- All ramps open at the interchange
- One lane in each direction on Glenstone Avenue at I-44 remains closed until permanent striping is applied
Project Information:
- Replace Glenstone Avenue bridges over I-44
- Replace cloverleaf ramps with a standard diamond interchange
- Install new traffic signals on Glenstone at the ramps
- Widen Route H between I-44 and Valley Water Mill Road
- Project nearing completion
Route UU Clear Creek Bridge Rehabilitation: Bois D’Arc area (Greene County)
- Removing bridge walls and bridge deck

Traffic Impacts:
- One northbound lane closed
Project Information:
- Widen Route 5 to five lanes, two through lanes in each direction with a continuous center turn lane
- Add a second left-turn lane for southbound Route 5 traffic at intersection of Route 5/Jefferson Avenue/Route 64/Seventh Street
- Resurface the intersection of Route 5 and Route 64 to eliminate rutted pavement
- Modify traffic signals on Route 5 at Route 64 and at Brice Street
- Build new sidewalks and modify storm drains in areas.
Project completion: November 2010.
Route A/C over I-44 Bridge Rehabilitation: Phillipsburg (Laclede County)
