*I-64/40 Reconstruction – The following lanes will be closed as part of the I-64 reconstruction work between September 1, 2008 and September 7, 2008.

 

Monday, September 1

Tuesday, September 2

  • From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. one lane of northbound Kingshighway Boulevard north of I-64 will be closed for work on the north side of the bridge.  One lane of the eastbound I-64 exit ramp to northbound Kingshighway Boulevard will be closed.
  • From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. westbound I-64 will have one lane closed between Big Bend Boulevard and Laclede Station Road.
  • From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. I-64 will have one lane closed in each direction between McCausland Avenue and Clayton Avenue.
  • From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. northbound Big Bend Boulevard will have one lane closed between Dale Avenue and Warner Drive.
  • From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lindbergh Boulevard will have one lane closed in each direction at I-64.
  • From 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. westbound I-64 will have one lane closed between Kingshighway Boulevard and Hampton Avenue. At 8 p.m. a second westbound lane will be closed. Watch for flaggers occasionally stopping traffic on the westbound exits to Clayton Avenue and Hampton Avenue, along with the westbound entrance ramp at Kingshighway, to allow equipment to cross the ramp.
  • From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Clayton Road will have one lane closed in each direction at I-64.
  • From 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the westbound I-64 entrance ramp from Kingshighway Boulevard will be closed.
  • Southbound I-170 traffic to Eager Road will be shifted onto new pavement.

 

Wednesday, September 3

  • From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. one lane of northbound Kingshighway Boulevard north of I-64 will be closed for work on the north side of the bridge. One lane of the eastbound I-64 exit ramp to northbound Kingshighway Boulevard will be closed.
  • From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. one lane of westbound I-64 will be closed between Big Bend Boulevard and Laclede Station Road.

  • From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. one lane of northbound Kingshighway Boulevard north of I-64 will be closed.  One lane of the eastbound I-64 exit ramp to northbound Kingshighway Boulevard will be closed.
  • From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. one lane of westbound I-64 will be closed between Big Bend Boulevard and Laclede Station Road.
  • From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane of northbound Big Bend Boulevard will be closed between Dale Avenue and Warner Drive.

 

Friday, September 5

  • From 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. one lane of the eastbound I-64 exit ramp to northbound Kingshighway Boulevard will be closed.
  • From 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. one lane of westbound I-64 will be closed between Big Bend Boulevard and Laclede Station Road.
  • From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. one lane of northbound Big Bend Boulevard will be closed between Dale Avenue and Warner Drive.
  • From 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Clayton Road will have one lane closed in each direction at I-64.
  • The South Outer Forty Road roundabout at Spoede Road will open.  The crossover at Tamaron Place will be closed and only accessible to emergency vehicles.   

 

Saturday, September 6

  • From 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. one lane of eastbound Clayton Road will be closed at I-64.  The signal at Clayton/I-64 will be on red flash.
  • From 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. one lane of westbound Clayton Road will be closed at I-64.

 

Sunday, September 7

  • No traffic restrictions are currently scheduled.

St. Louis County

*Rte 30 (Gravois) at Geyer/Sappington Barracks Construction work has started to install signals at this intersection. Daily, crews will close the crossover at Geyer/Sappington Barracks on Route 30 for widening work. Motorists will not be able to make a left turn into Geyer from eastbound Route 30 or from westbound Route 30 onto Sappington Barracks. Route 30 (Gravois Road) remains open in both directions during construction work. This project is scheduled to be complete December 2008.

Interstate 44 North Outer Road from Six Flags Road to Central- Starting Tuesday, August 12, the contractor is resurfacing and repairing pavement on the North Outer Road from the Six Flags/Allenton to Central in the city of Eureka. Work will take place from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am Monday through Friday. This project is expected to be completed November 2008.

Lindbergh Blvd. (Route 67) from I-70 to Manchester (Route 100) The contractor is installing conduit and fiber optic cable on Lindbergh Boulevard for traffic signal networking.  Work will take place from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.

Lindbergh Blvd. (Route 67) at Whitehall Manor Drive The contractor is performing traffic signal reconstruction at this intersection.  Work will take place from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.

*Clayton Rd. (Route HH) between Route 141 and Baxter Rd.- Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction between the hours of 6:30 pm and 6:00 am Monday through Thursday.  The contractor will be removing and replacing the existing asphalt on Clayton Rd. (Route HH). 

Route I-44 from I-270 to Williams Road- Starting Monday, July 28, 2008 crews will patch and repair pavement on Interstate 44 from Interstate 270 to Williams Road. Work will take place Monday thru Friday from 7:00 pm to 4:30 am. Crews will work on eastbound I-44 between Williams Road and I-270 with various lane closures. This project continues until November 2008. All work is weather permitting.

Lindbergh Blvd. (Route 67) from Elm Grove to New Halls Ferry Rd. (Route AC) The contractor will continue curb removal and begin pouring replacement curb & gutter on Lindbergh Boulevard from New Halls Ferry Road to Patterson Avenue. Also, crews will begin resurfacing from Elm Grove northbound to St. Ferdinand.  Work will take place from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am Monday thru Friday. Crews will close only one lane at a time. This project is expected to be completed by May 2009.

*I-55 at Reavis Barracks Rd. - Crews have completed the work on this project. Some minor work will take place next week. The work consisted of widening the East side of the ramp and removing and shifting the location of the existing island, which will result in three lanes for traffic.  The work also included new traffic signals.

*Route AC (New Halls Ferry Road) from Parker Road to south of Interstate 270- Crews have completed resurfacing pavement on Route AC (New Halls Ferry Road from Parker Rd. to south of Interstate 270).  Some striping work will take place next week.

Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) from east of the intersection of Route AC (New Halls Ferry Rd.) to west of the Route 367 interchange-

Installation of concrete medians and highway lighting complete on Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) from east of the intersection of Route AC (New Halls Ferry Road) to west of the Route 367 interchange. Some minor work by crews could continue.

*Route 109 between Route CC (Wild Horse Creek Rd.) and Route 100 (Manchester Road) Work is complete on Rte 109.

I-170 at Olive Blvd. – Crews will be finishing up work associated with building the Olive Blvd. and Interstate 170 interchange.  Crews will be working on sidewalk, grading, and other final tasks on the project. Drivers can expect occasional lane closures through the remaining work.

Gravois (Route 30) between Weber & River Des Peres - Construction has started to install traffic signal interconnect systems. Lane closures are possible on Gravois between Weber and River Des Peres between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Route 367 from Norma Lane south of Lindbergh Blvd. All work is complete. Only minor lane closures can be expected this summer for seeding and sodding operations.

*Various  Bridges - The contractor will be performing bridge deck repair on various bridges on I-270, and I-44.  The schedule is tentatively as follows:

·              9/02/08, Eastbound I-44 bridge over Meramec River. (Right Lane Closed)

·              9/03/08, Eastbound I-270 bridge at Route AC (2 left lanes closed)

·              9/04/08, Northbound I-270 bridge at Fee Fee (right 3 lanes closed)

Expect various lane closures and ramp closures from 7:30pm to 5:00am Monday through Thursday.   

Various routes around St. Louis – Work has been complete on all routes.  Clean up work is taking place on Route HH (Clayton Road), from Kehr’s Mill Road to Clarkson Road and on Ballas Road (Route JJ) from Conway to Route HH (Clayton Road).

St. Louis City

*Route H / Riverview Dr. Crews have completed manhole adjustments, pavement repair, milling to level surface, and thin-lift asphalt overlay. Some minor cleanup and striping operations will take place next week.  The project begins at the intersection with Hall St. and extends to the eastbound ramps at I-270.  The public is cautioned that there are a large number of manhole adjustments on this project.

*Hampton Ave at I-44 to Sublette BridgeWork is completed on the improvements to the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 44 from Hampton Ave.  Widening of the ramp and Sublette Bridge is complete.  Some minor work on the Hampton Ave. bridge wall and abutment remains off the roadway during daytime and periodic nighttime work.

St. Charles County

I-70 at Wentzville Parkway - A project is under way to improve ramp access from southbound Wentzville Parkway to eastbound and westbound I-70.  I-70 eastbound is tentatively scheduled to be reduced to a single lane over the weekend of August 22 to 24 so the eastbound ramp acceleration lane can be extended.  Work on Wentzville Parkway will occur during the week.

Route 61 at McCoy Creek Traffic is advised to slow down through the work zone. The northbound lanes have been split so work can be completed in the center of the bridge.  The lanes are narrow and oversized loads are prohibited.  This restriction should be removed in time for the Labor Day Holiday. Any work requiring a reduction in the number of lanes will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, with flaggers directing traffic on the remaining lane. This is part of a bridge-widening project over McCoy Creek.

Route 40 between Lake St. Louis Blvd and I-70 – Crews are clearing rock and grading for the new eastbound Route 40 lanes and the south service road. Crews have also begun construction on the south half of the bridge for Prospect Road.

  • Crews have closed access to Route 40 from Prospect Road to allow material staging and bridge construction to begin. Traffic wishing to access Route 40 should detour through Callahan Road.
  • Crews have closed access from Oak Bluff Drive to Route 40. To access the road, drivers need to take the Lake St. Louis Blvd. exit, go south to Hawk Ridge Circle and take a right. Take another right onto Freymuth Road, which leads to a newly completed extension that ties directly into Oak Bluff Drive.
  • Crews have closed the intersection of Prospect Road and Corporate Parkway. The intersection will be closed until June 2008 as crews remove the old roadway, build up the surrounding road and pour concrete pavement.

Route 364 between Jungs Station Road and Jungermann Road Placement of base rock is complete on the South Outer Road and Cinnamon Hills Drive, trimming of rock and placement of concrete is expected by late August. Grading is continuing on the North Outer Road. Placement of base rock on the North Outer Road will begin upon completion of the South Outer Road work. Trucks are hauling across Harvester Road just north of Highway 94. Drivers should use caution and watch for flaggers in this area, between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm. Cinnamon Hills Road is closed at Harvester Road, the back entrance to Harvester Square Shopping Center, and the entrance to the US Bank. Woodstone Drive is closed at Haymarket Drive, and Centre Point Drive. Drivers should use alternate routes. This is part of Stage 1 Construction. Drivers should use caution as trucks will be entering and exiting the highway. This is the first section of Phase 2 Route 364. This job includes grading, concrete pavement, drainage, and a steel girder bridge at Harvester Road. The paving includes new north and south outer roads between Jungs Station Road to just east of Jungermann Road, and new Route 364 pavement from Jungs Station Road to just east of Woodstone Drive.

Route A over Route 61 in WentzvilleCrews are working on miscellaneous corrections from a recent semi-final inspection. All lanes on Route A and Route 61 are open to traffic.

Route N between Spring Orchard Drive and Meadowlake DriveCrews have completed widening the roadway to make room for a left turn lane. Some construction traffic remains to complete shoulder work.

Jefferson County

Route 30 at Little Brennan- Lane restrictions will be in place as crews add turn lanes, widening of shoulders, and installation of new signals and lighting. This job is scheduled to be complete by October 2008.

*Route 61 (Jeffco Blvd) at Richardson Road Construction for roadway widening continues this week. Traffic will be switched over to the new pavement to facilitate the installation of new signals and concrete medians.  Various lanes closures can be expected in both directions from 7:00 am to 3 pm. This job is scheduled to be complete by late September 2008.  

*I-55 West Outer Road at Seckman Road – The West Outer Road which had been closed between Seckman Road and Old Antonia Road is open to traffic.  Work will continue in this area with various lane closures.  Flaggers may be in place daily at this location from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to allow trucks access to the job site. The job is scheduled to be complete by Oct. 3, 2008.

New Rte 21 from Old Rte 21 to Hayden Rd. - Old Rte 21 is closed at New Rte 21 for construction of the new interchange.  Traffic can detour the ramp bypass or Schenk Rd.  This project consists of relocating Rte 21 between Old Rte 21 and Hayden Rd.

Rte 61/67 at Joachim Creek – Rte 61/67 will have daily lane closures to complete bridge rehabilitation work (weather permitting).  This project is scheduled to be complete by summer 2008.  

Rte 61/67 (Jeffco Blvd) from Meramec Bottom to Route M Construction is ongoing along Jeffco Blvd to install traffic signal interconnect systems at various locations of Route 61/67.  Northbound and southbound Rte 61/67 will have a right lane closure at various locations between Imperial Main Street and Route M.  Also, there will be right lane closures at various locations on Route M from Rte. 61/67 to I-55 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting.  This project is scheduled to be complete September 2008.  

Rte BB from Rte 21 and Rte 30  - Rte BB is open at Sand Creek. Expect daily one-way traffic lane closures for cross drainage replacement Monday through Friday from 7am to 3pm.  This project consists of cross drainage replacement, roadway realignment at Old Baker School Rd.  This project is scheduled to be complete by fall 2008.

Franklin County

*Route T east of Washington, MOA thin lift overlay will be placed on Route T, East of Washington near Route V intersection, from West Hwy. 100 in Franklin County to East Hwy. 100 in St. Louis County near Wildwood are in progress. The total length of the improvement is 14 miles.  Expect delays for pavement repair and milling and asphalt operations on Route T from West Hwy. 100 intersection continuing through Labadie and St. Alban’s areas to Wildwood area in St. Louis County on Route T.  Performing pavement repairs in various locations.  Work zone areas will move as operations move.

Route N in Pacific- Resurfacing operations are complete on Route N from Congress St. in Pacific west to just east of the Meramec River, the total length of the improvement being 2.25 miles.  Possible delays following striping operations when corrective action is needed.

Route 44 Outer Road- Resurfacing operations are complete on I-44 outer road from east of Route 100 to east to Viaduct Street in the city of Pacific, this includes a segment of Thorton Street, the total length of the improvement being 2.75 miles. Possible delays following striping operations when corrective action is needed.

*Route 100 east of South Point Rd. to Route AT in the City of Washington - Utility relocations and clearing and grubbing operations are ongoing.  There should be only minimal impacts to traffic.  This project will widen Route 100 from the City of Washington going to east to Route I-44.  The project is expected to be completed by late Summer 2010.

*Route 100 west of the City of Washington near Route 185-  This project is a bridge replacement over Little Boeuf Creek.  Traffic has been diverted to the temporary bypass until the new bridge is completed some time this fall.  The new bridge deck is being constructed this week. Project expected to be completed by late November 08.

*Route 30 at Route 47 over the BNSF Railroad in St. Clair Project is completed.  Impact to traffic is possible if corrective action is needed, following inspection that will be performed this week.

Route 185 at I-44 in Sullivan New intersection at Hwy. D and the South Service Road are open. West Springfield Road is closed from Fisher Street to Missouri Avenue for pavement and other reconstruction.  A signed detour is in place detouring traffic to the South Service Road or west on West Springfield Road.  Route 185 North from the I-44 South Outer Road to Dunsford Street closed on July 30 for approximately 8 weeks for pavement and other reconstruction.  A signed detour is in place detouring traffic through Dunsford and Franklin Streets to the North Outer Road.  Expect delays through this detour from approx. Motorists are advised to use extra caution between 7AM to 8AM during the school year due to increased volume of traffic traveling to and from Sullivan Area Schools.  The project is expected to be complete by late fall of 2008.
